In talking with Extra, Mark Wahlberg revealed how he wants to pursue seeing THE FIGHTER as a trilogy.

Speaking to Extra [via Collider] on the red carpet Sunday, Wahlberg said:

“Now we’re gonna talk about doing No. 2,” Wahlberg explained. “We’re gonna do the Ward/Gatti trilogy and make it real,” referring to the real-life Mickey Ward’s three fights with his most fierce opponent, Arturo Gatti.

I thought THE FIGHTER was great and what made it great and set it apart from other “true-story-sports-movies” was the focus on the dynamics of the family and the relationships and less on the actual boxing.

I am trying to convince my wife to see the film and she said the only way she’d see it was if “the boxing stuff was lessened.”

What do you think about the possibility of a trilogy?

Here’s the first clip from Larry Crowne, Tom Hanks’ summer romantic comedy starring himself and Julia Roberts.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen Hanks in something I have liked, but after watching this clip, I am really EXCITED to see this film. It looks like Hanks is back to his heartwarming and genuinely-quirky-but-honest days…

Here’s the official synopsis of the film that opens in July:

Oscar winners Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts reunite for a dramatic comedy about how the hard knocks from today’s recession inspire one everyday guy to undergo a personal reinvention: Larry Crowne.

Until he was downsized, affable, amiable Larry Crowne (Hanks) was a superstar team leader at the big-box company where he’s worked since his time in the Navy. Underwater on his mortgage and unclear on what to do with his suddenly free days, Larry heads to his local college to start over. There he becomes part of a colorful community of outcasts, also-rans and the overlooked all trying to find a better future for themselves…often moving around town in a herd of scooters. In his public- speaking class, Larry develops an unexpected crush on his teacher Mercedes Tainot (Roberts), who has lost as much passion for teaching as she has for her husband.

The simple guy who has every reason to think his life has stalled will come to learn an unexpected lesson: when you think everything worth having has passed you by, you just might discover your reason to live.

Thanks to our buddies over at GordonAndTheWhale, we have the FIRST TWO character posters for the upcoming X-Men prequel, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS.

With all of the cheesy and overly-touched-up superhero posters that have been out, these two posters are really well done and totally add to the gritty effect the film already feels like.

What do you think of them?

The media is making it exciting with all the questions about Banksy. I think it’s all good and if he shows up, he shows up. I won’t stop him.

Opening on April Fools Day is Rainn Wilson’s (Dwight from the Office) newest film, written/directed by James Gunn (Scooby Doo), “Super.”

The official plot synopsis is:

After his wife falls under the influence of a drug dealer, an everyday guy (Rainn Wilson) transforms himself into Crimson Bolt, a superhero with the best intentions, though he lacks for heroic skills.

So, basically it sounds like a PG version of Kick-Ass, but a LOT funnier!

First Look: James Franco in ‘Rise of the Apes’ | Joblo via /Film

Rise of the Apes is the modern-day prequel to Planet of the Apes starring Franco as a scientist who single-handedly plants the seed for the end of the world when he helps to create Caesar, the world’s first intelligent ape, played in full motion-capture by Andy Serkis.

Directed by Rupert Wyatt, it costars Freida Pinto, Tom Felton, John Lithgow, and Brian Cox. Scheduled for release in November.

I love clean this looks and if you notice in the background all of the different ape skulls…this is going to be an awesome flick!
